To all the delightful dogs I’ve met in 2012 (and their owners!) – thank you!

I like photographing people, so portraiture, weddings, children etc. are right up there as favourite subjects.  However…2012 saw a bit of a diversion for me in terms of photographic subjects as I turned my lens onto our canine friends.  It started as a personal challenge, but eventually led to a job shooting a working trial for the Gundog Club of North Wales.  Anyone who photographs animals will tell you it’s not all plain sailing, but when you get it right it’s the most fabulous feeling.  I’m going to continue into 2013 and have already ear-marked some training to help me improve my skills further, but until then, here’s a couple of montages of my favourite images from 2012.

We’ve added to our own pack this year too…Tom joined us a couple of weeks ago and is settling in well (he’s the one in the middle)… so now our paw count is up to 20!

Thanks to the dogs and their patient owners for allowing me to make friends – lets do it again in 2013!
